Supplication Upon Completion
of Recital of the Holy Quran

FASAL 1

All praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. A praise that sufficiently conveys His favours and suffices His abundance. O our Lord, to You is praise as befits the Glory of Your Face and the greatness of Your Might. Glory be to You, we cannot praise You enough,  You are as You have praised Yourself, so Praise be to You until you are pleased, and due to You is praise if you are pleased, and due to You is praise after Your pleasure. All praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.

O Allah, bestow blessings and peace upon our master Muhammad, and upon the family of our master Muhammad. O Possessor of Sublimity and Honour, and Granter of Magnificent Gifts. May Allah the Most High, be pleased with every one of our Masters, the Companions of the Messenger of Allah. And be pleased with us and our parents, our deceased ones, our religious teachers, our teachers, and their parents, and those who are present and the entire Muslims.

O Allah, do to us and to them from that which is beautiful, as You are possessor of The Wonderful Nature, O the Most Merciful of those who show Mercy. O Allah, our Lord, grant us in this world (that which is) good and in the hereafter (that which is) good, and protect us from the punishment of the fire.

O Allah, make us and our parents and our teachers and their parents and those present, all the Muslims, from amongst Your pious and successful servants who would attain salvation and felicity, are doers of good and recipients of blessings, are joyous and happy, are receivers of glad tidings, in a state of tranquility and security with no fear and sadness upon them, with Your mercy O Most Merciful.

O Allah, put us into a group that truly defends the great Quran when defending it, a group that truly admires its position when listening to it, a civilized group of people that displays the best of manners with the Quran in its presence, a group of good people when it comes to it, a group that always adheres to its law and does not abandon it, and only expects Your noble face and the afterlife while reading it. And You accept that group and give them the life in hereafter.

O Allah bless us with the great Quran which You have elevated its position. And which You have strengthened its authority. And which You made the fluent Arabic its language. And You have said O The Mightiest, all glory to Him: "So when I have recited it, then follow its recitation", then indeed the explanation is My responsibility.

O Allah, grant us by the Quran – honor and addition, include us in all its goodness and happiness, and move us to practice good deeds on the basis of truth, for You are most praised and noble.

O Allah, as You have made us the people of the Quran and believe in its contents, then let us be the ones who can benefit by reading it, enjoying the pleasure of reviewing it, obeying its commandments, taking lessons from its exemplary example, and become amongst those who succeed at its completion (khatam).

(Forgive us O Allah 3x) and forgive our parents, our sheikhs and teachers, as well as their parents, all attendees, and all Muslims,

Amin, Amin, by Your Mercy,

O Most Merciful of all who are merciful.

Allah, The Most High and Most Great has spoken the truth. And His noble, true and faithful Messenger and Prophet has conveyed the Divine Message. And we are witness to that which our Lord and our Leader, our Protector and our Creator, our Provider and our Inheritor, our Raiser (from death) and our helper, and to Whom is our return, and is the Manager of all blessings upon us, and we are in constant remembrance of Him.

And praise be to Allah, the Lord of all creation. And the final good ending is for the pious. And there can be no enmity except towards the unjust.

Blessings of Allah be upon our leader Muhammad (s.a.w.), the Seal of the Prophets and upon his good and pure members of his family. And upon his chosen companions, and upon all Angels and Prophets and Messengers. Verily our Lord is The Praised and The Glorious.

Praise be to Allah Who has praised Himself in His Book (Alhamdulillah). And commenced His Book with praise (Alhamdulillah). And has chosen praise for Himself (Alhamdulillah). And has made the praise proof of His obedience (Alhamdulillah). And is pleased with the offering of praise to Him as an expression of gratitude from His creation (Alhamdulillah).

Praise be to Allah with all His praiseworthy actions that brings about an increase in it and discharges His right (to praise), and gives precedence in His presence, that which pleases Him and supplements the like of those praises.

And we ask Him that He sends His blessings and salutations upon our leader Muhammad (s.a.w) and upon his family with all of the blessings and that He bestows upon him (Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.) the most noble station and abode and blessings in the gardens of paradise,

Oh Most Generous.

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 2

  ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad.

O Allah, You have helped us complete the recitation of Your Book, which You have glorified. And appointed as a guardian over every Book You have revealed. A recital (Book) in which You have explained Your Laws. And appointed as a Criterion with which You have distinguished between that which You have made permissible and that which You have made unlawful. A Book which You have explained clearly to Your servants. And a revelation You sent upon the heart of Your Prophet, our Leader, Muhammad (s.a.w.) with the truth. And you have made it (Quran) a light by which You guide (Your servants) out of the darkness of ignorance through its observance.

And an Interceder for he who attentively listens to it out of his subscription to its truth. And a just balance whose tongue never sways from the truth. A guiding light whose radiant proofs are never extinguished by doubts and a mark of deliverance, and he who seeks to prescribe to its way will never go astray and he who clings to the handhold of the protection it provides would not be touched by the hand of destruction and calamity

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 3

ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad. 

O Allah, and as You have helped us to complete its recital.

And made its recital dear to us. And made its repeated recital easy upon our tongues.

Make us, O my Lord, O Allah, from those who recite it in the right manner. And observe it as it should be observed. And those who serve You with conviction through belief in the clear and established text of its verses. And hasten to the acceptance of those verses whose meanings are allegorical (metaphorical). And those who admit that the Quran is from Your presence.

Such that we have no doubts in its acceptance and are not shaken by deviance from the observance of its straight path,

O Most Generous.

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 4

  ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad. 

0 Allah, just as You subjected our hearts to bear its message, and taught us from Your presence its noble virtues, make us O my Lord from among those who hold firmly to its (Quran’s) rope and seek refuge from the doubtful things in the protection of its fortress, and rest in the shade of the wing of its guidance, and are guided by its clear light and illuminate themselves with the torch of its light and do not seek guidance from other than it (Quran),

O Most Generous.

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 5

ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad. 

O Allah, just as You have appointed it (Quran) as a sign that guides to You, and made it the path of those who are inclined to You, make it a means for us to the most noble of abodes in paradise, and reason for the attainment of deliverance at the time of desolation on the Day of Judgment, and (make it) a ladder upon which we may rise to the place of safety, and a means by which we may approach the attainment of the blessings of the permanent abode,

O Most Generous.

يَاكَرِيْم  

FASAL 6

ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad.

0 Allah make The Quran be our companion in the darkness of the nights, and make it restrain our feet from approaching sinful acts, and make it hold our tongues from engaging in falsehood, and deter our body parts from committing sin, and make it awaken us to taking lessons from that which we have been veiled from - due to our unmindful state, until you make the understanding of its (Quran's) amazing parables and its deterring prohibitions penetrate our hearts, that which even the mountains were unable to bear,

O Most Generous.

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 7

  ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad.   

0 Allah, patch up with it (Quran) our poverty with richness, and bring to us comfortable livelihood and richness in sustenance, and protect us from slipping into unbelief and that which leads to hypocrisy, and distance us from all forms of despised and lowly conduct till You purify us from every impurity through the purity of the Quran, and make us follow the footsteps of those who illuminated themselves with its light and were not distracted by the treacherous delusions of false hopes. 

O Most Generous. 

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 8

ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad.   

O Allah, just as You have honoured us with the completion of the recital of Your Book, and encouraged us to seek its plentiful reward, and warned us through its verses that carry the threat of Your painful torment, make us O my Lord, O Allah from those who are good companions of the Quran when alone, and who glorify its stature by guarding it from blameworthy situations, and who honor its sacredness by distancing it from places where it may be exposed to abominations, till  the Quran becomes a deterrent for us from the violation of divine prohibitions in this world, and a guide to salvation on the Day of Judgment, and a witness for us in Your Presence with the keeping of its commandments and avoidance of its prohibitions, and till it brings us to permanent residence in the gardens of paradise,

O Most Generous.

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 9

  ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad.   

O Allah, through the Quran, make easy for our souls upon death, the distress of being driven to death, and the alarm and anxiety when the soul is about to leave the body, and the Angel of Death appears, (Allah’s blessings and salutations be upon him and our Prophet), to take the soul from behind the veils of the unseen, and it is said, "Is there a chanter who can restore the soul back to him?, and he mixes for it a Cup of the poison of the pain of death, bitter to the taste, and shoots at it (the soul of the dying) from the bow of death - the arrow of the loneliness of separation, as the time for departure for the hereafter comes close to us, and deeds become the decider of our fate, fastened like collars around necks, and the graves then become the place of refugee until the appointed time of the Day of Encounter (with Allah for judgment),

O Most Generous.

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 10

  ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad.   

O Allah, make blessed for us our entry into the abode of decay (graves), and the long period of residence between the layers of the earth, and make the graves after departure from this world - the best of our stations, and make spacious for us through the blessings of the Great Quran - the narrowness of our graves, and do not disgrace us with the exposure of our faults - 0 our Protector – in front of those present at the Resurrection - because of the annihilating sins that we committed, and forgive us for the forbidden acts that we had committed (3x),  

And show mercy to our lowly and despised status through the blessings of the Quran at the time when we are brought before You, and firm our feet such that they would not slip when the bridge over hellfire shakes on the Day we shall cross over it, and save us from the calamities of the Day of Judgment and the fears of ‘The Overwhelming Day’, (and make our faces radiant through the Quran 3x), when the faces of the sinners would be blackened on the Day of Regret and Remorse,

O Most Generous.

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 11

   ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad.   

0 Allah, with its blessings, continue to provide us with good physical health, and guard with it (Quran) the good state of our hearts and conscience from evil whispers and thoughts, and cleanse with it the impurities of our hearts and our destructive misdeeds,  and repel with it treacherous doubts from our true inner self, and reconcile with it (Quran) our affairs that are in discord, and expand with it our bosoms, and make easy with it our affairs, and adorn us through it the apparel of security at the time of our resurrection, and prolong at the time of The Hour - our delight and happiness,

O Most Generous.

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 12

  ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad.   

0 Allah, remove from us through its (Quran's) blessings the burden of sins, and bestow upon us the good qualities of pious men, and make us follow the footsteps of those who stand in Your worship with it (Quran) during the hours of the night and day - till You make us, by it (Quran) - deserving of the benefits of Your forgiveness, and the gifts of Your manifest favours, and gift us by overlooking our faults and granting us Your pardon and pleasure, (O The Most Generous to be asked and the Most liberal in the bestowment of favours 3x), purify us with Your Noble Book from the impurities of wrongdoing, and grant us patience when calamities descend, and bestow upon us readiness at the time of death, and protect us from the harm that accompanies trials that are feared,

O Most Generous.

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 13

  ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad.  

O Most Generous, can it be perceived that You would put hands, which had humbly submitted to You, and were placed in support during bowing and prostration in prayer before You - in chains around necks? Or that You would put feet that had walked in service to You and left their homes with no desire except in hope and longing for that which is in Your presence - in the chains of hellfire? And doing so due to the favour from You upon us - and not as a favour from us upon You. Is it to be perceived that You would deafen the ears that had enjoyed listening to the sweet recital of Your book which You had revealed? Or could it perceived that You would blind in the darkness of its abysses (in the graves) - the eyes that wept for Your sake, out of fear of Your punishment and the account? 

By Your Power and Glory, the ears did not listen (to the Quran) except that they believed, and the eyes did not shed tears except out of fear, and the voices were not raised in prayer except in submission and devotion, and the tongues did not move seeking forgiveness except that they had regretted their mistakes and slips. O He Who has honored us with belief despite our deeds being inadequate and far from fulfillment (of duty). O Allah provide us support from Your presence,  

O my Lord during this noble, blessed and glorified hour at the time of the completion of the recital of the Quran - with protection (from sins) and success 3x),

O Most Generous.

يَاكَرِيْم

FASAL 14

  ياَكَرِيْمُ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ

O Most Generous, O Allah send Your blessings and salutations upon Our Leader Muhammad and upon the family of our Leader Muhammad.  

O Allah, cheer our gloominess with Your obedience, O Provider of company to the bewildered loner in the desolate plains of deserts, come to our aid with Your protection, O Saviour of the drowning in the deep seas, save us, O Allah, with Your subtle mercy from the severities of those perils and dangers and O Allah, bestow Your Blessings upon our leader Muhammad, the chosen Prophet and upon his good and chosen household,  

blessings that would be the envy of those who would be present on the Day of Judgement, and upon his forefathers and brethren from among the Prophets and Messengers, and upon his followers and their supporters from among the believers, and upon his purified wives, the mothers of the believers, and upon our father Adam and our mother Hawwa (Eve), and upon all who are born from the believers and upon the companions of the Prophet from this day till the Day of Judgement  

(and upon us in their company, through Your Mercy,

O Most Generous 3x). 

May Allah forgive us and you (those present) our past sins and may He protect us and you during the remaining days (of our lives) and May He accept from us and you that which we have performed from the prayers and recitation of the Quran and charity and supplications and pilgrimage and fasting and may He place us through His mercy in the Abode of Security (paradise) and may He not make us and you see and face anything that is undesirable after our departure from this gathering this day and may He receive our teachers and deceased ones and the deceased believers with gifts and honour and generosity and dignity and blessings. And O Allah bestow the most virtuous of blessings and salutations aplenty upon the best of creation and upon his family, the chosen and noble ones, who are like lights in darkness, and praise be to Allah the Lord of all creation.  

Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power from what they (disbelievers) ascribe to Him and peace be upon the Messengers and praise belongs to Allah, The Lord and Cherisher of all creation.
