The sessions was easy to follow and there is a lot of practices provided to ensure that we walked away with the knowledge we are seeking for. I always looked forward to the sessions as it is always interactive and fulfilling.

Alhamdulillah the explanations were simple and easy to understand. Im learning at the age of 42. At Revamp it was always emphasised that we are friends. Its more of knowledge sharing approach and the conductor is very approachable. Revamp is definitely a great place to start with for anyone seeking the foundations.

I find the "approach" very relaxed & non-judgmental, which was very important to me. The weekly sessions were quite interactive despite the sessions being on Zoom. Upon completing the sessions, I am able to not only recognise the Arabic alphabet but I can read sentences albeit slowly. Still have a long way to go but a step closer to my goal. The sessions have actually make me want to learn more. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, it is never too late & do not be shy, as everyone is there to learn.

Having been to some Quran classes in the past, I can sincerely say the the approach adapted at Revamp was a first for me for not being too “traditional”. I was first introduced to Revamp by a fellow brother who had attended it himself. Brother Aydarus’ way of teaching is definitely engaging and fun which makes learning even more exciting. He is patient to those who are really “new” in the Recite class. In the midst of this Covid-19 pandemic it was definitely a first for me to attend a Quran Reciting Class over Zoom. I really did not feel a lack of teaching or guiding presence even thought the teacher was not physically there with you. This is definitely challenging for a teacher to engage his students through an online platform but Brother Aydarus has definitely done it well.

The REcite classes was very easy to comprehend. It started with basics of learning the letters of hijaiyah and how to pronounce each letter correctly. Everyone with zero background are welcome to join and the learning was fun and interactive. Alhamdulillah for a good start and this makes me wants to learn more.

I signed up feeling intimidated and just completely shy because i didn’t know a lot of basic things but this course and sessions were of the right pace to make sure I was on track. I managed to learn from the start without feeling judged. And when I had small little wins here and there, Brother Aydarus never failed to give good words. And when I struggled, Brother Aydarus also gave words of encouragement and reminded us/me of our purpose in learning. The sessions were engaging as well with activities to complete together as a ‘class’. When one voiced out their doubts, everyone else managed to learn from it. A lot of laughter during class too to lighten the mood and make everyone comfortable. So thank you Brother Aydarus, I never thought I would have the courage to get through the class.

I have truly enjoyed and learned so much from the session! I struggled and never thought I could ever read Arabic but brother Aydarus have done a tremendous job in teaching, guiding, explaining to us! He had also made the sessions fun with his little jokes and reminders! Those who have struggled to read or have no knowledge in reading Arabic/Quran, I highly recommend the class! 😊

What I like about this class is because it is a non-judgmental class, come as you are, as long as our intention is aligned that is all that matters. I highly recommend this class to those who wants to start reading the Quran or just want to understand the arabic letters. It's good for beginners and once you've finished the class you can promote to the next class Revise to start reading the surahs. Can't wait to start the next class!

Approach was very well broke down to the basic level and was very detailed. Was very appreciative of the fact that the coursework and notes was put in a way that its taught in a manner considering from the most basic for someone that has no prior knowledge. And bro Aydarus checked in and adapted along the way ensuring no one was left behind. The session was enriching and something to look forward to every week. Also loved the ice breakers prior to the lesson, and the reminders on Islam and life shared. It was comprehensive and not just a lesson on the "abcs". The reminders help in many aspect of life. Continue doing what u are doing, its good! Revamp is like a family and the pace taught at Revamp is probably the best place to start.

It had been a wonderful journey. I did not want to miss any of the session….. the style and approach is different from the old school type - humble and non-judgemental. … honestly it was the best choice I've made. I feel the ways how it was taught was super straight forward and unlike any “old school” teacher.

“I'm a convert from Europe, who had no knowledge about Islam whatsoever before, including knowledge of the Arabic language. Compared to born Muslims growing up reciting verses of the Qur'an, practising their Iqra' from childbirth, I was at a great disadvantage. However, the sessions were easily understandable and followable by me and helped me a lot in my recitation and my ability to read.

By the end of the session I already started reading the Qur'an in Arabic with the supervision of my wife, and Alhamdulillah, even she complimented my improvement.

So whether you are a complete beginner, or someone with some basic knowledge already, I can guarantee you will benefit something from this session. As brother Aydarus said, don't yet aim to be Imam of Makkah upon completing these 8 weeks, but you will have a firm foundation to start your way there InshaAllah.”

“My husband had been bugging me to register with Revamp way before we even got married. Back then, he was attending Revamp at Bussorah Street. I remember meeting him after Revamp session and he would share with me all that he gained through the session.

After we got married, he had signed up for the recite session immediately upon learning that I had gotten pregnant. It was not long after that he could actually recite the Quran.

I wouldn’t lie, I envied him and I’ve always wanted to be able to recite the Quran. I don’t know why I hesitated for so long, 6 years, took me 6 years to finally do this. Most prolly, I was too shy to be sitting in a class. Allah swt is indeed the All-knowing. This pandemic, this circuit breaker, made it easier for me. Masyallah. I can’t thank Him enough. For making it easy for me.

Thank you Revamp, thank you for doing this, giving us this opportunity. May Allah swt bless you. “

“Though this is the first online class by Revamp, the platform was amazing and it feels like we are actually learning in an actual class! Approach is good and abg Aydarus made the sessions straight to the point, and that kept me attentive the whole time. The course was not overwhelming, just nice. I got to learn so much within 8 weeks, Alhamdulilah.

Abg Aydarus’s teachings, and all the participants (have inspired) me. This is really one place with zero judgements! I was actually recommended by a friend to try this course because of Abg Aydarus. The recommendation was true and Abg Aydarus has really captured my attention, with his storytellings (and their learnings). May Allah swt bless him. He will always be in our prayers.

The $30 fee was generous, I am willing to pay more because abg Aydarus really invests his time in teaching us. What I hated about the online session was that the time was super short!”

“I missed out many sessions during the first Recite intake I joined so I registered a second time! I am glad that it is still entertaining, fulfilling, and I get to understand more. I now can write the basmalah on my own without copying. What is most benefitting to me is the buddy system where we can practice together with the senior participants.”

“Brother Aydarus’s approach to students is "santai", therefore it makes newbies feel welcoming and less stress. Providing students with drinks and snacks is an added bonus. The take away from Revamp is the emphasis on akhlaq and adab (manners and etiquette), and that I am now able to write Arabic! It is never too late in learning something beneficial and Revamp provides the right environment where one feels welcomed and doesn't feel left out once you join the class. Revamp treats you like a family.”

“I would grade the session with: “Excellent !! It was at the right pace , easy to understand and was really engaging. In Revamp, there is no need to feel shy !! Everyone in Revamp is there to learn too. Furthermore, there are so many humble and encouraging people around you in Revamp. I myself had so much fun in Revamp and I feel welcome every time I am there. Going to Revamp was the best choice I ever made so try coming to a few lessons and insyaallah you will love it too!!”

“I find the whole set up at Revamp very well done. it makes you feel comfortable to learn. It was how the topics were conducted. Bro Aydarus did a very good job in explaining, especially about the signs (fat-hah, kas-roh, etc), what and how they are read etc. It is a different approach from your usual “mengaji” sessions elsewhere but the system works! I love the motivational stories shared by Bro Aydarus during the sessions and I would use the stories to lure my friends who are shy to start learning. My favourite one is: What do you want to be doing if you know you are about to die?”
