QASIDAH MEDLEY
MAWLA YA SOLLI

مَوْلَايَ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمًا أَبَدًا
عَلَى حَبِيبِكَ خَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ كُلِّهَمِ

O Protector, send salutations and peace, everlasting and forever,
upon Your Beloved, the Best of all of creation.

مُحَمَّدٌ سَيِّدُ الْكَوْنَيْنِ وَالثَّقَلَيْنِ
وَالْفَرِيقَيْنِ مِنْ عُرْبِ وَمِنْ عَجَمِ

Muhammad, the Master of both worlds, and both creations (Man & Jinn).
And the Guide of both Arabs and non-Arabs.

مَوْلَايَ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمًا أَبَدًا
عَلَى حَبِيبِكَ خَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ كُلِّهَمِ

O Protector, send salutations and peace, everlasting and forever,
upon Your Beloved, the Best of all of creation.

يَا رَبِّ بِالْمُصْطَفَى   بَلِّغْ مَقَا صِدَنَا
وَاغْفِرْلَنَا مَامَضَى   يَا وَاسِعَ الْكَرَمِ

O Lord, by the Chosen One, fulfil our goals,
And forgive us for what has passed, O Most Munificent One!

مَوْلَايَ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمًا أَبَدًا
عَلَى حَبِيبِكَ خَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ كُلِّهَمِ

O Protector, send salutations and peace, everlasting and forever,
upon Your Beloved, the Best of all of creation.

يَا نَبِي سَلَام عَلَيْكَ   يَا رَسُول سَلَام عَلَيْكَ
يَا حَبِيب سَلَام عَلَيْكَ   صَلَوَاتُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْكَ

O Prophet, peace be upon you. O Messenger, peace be upon you.
O Beloved, peace be upon you. The prayers of Allah be upon you.

أَنْتَ نُورُاللّٰهِ فَجْرًا   جِئْتَ بَعْدَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
رَبُّنَا أَعْلَاكَ قَدْرًا   يَا إِمَامَ الْأَنْبِيَاء

You are the light of Allah at dawn. You came after the hardship as convenience.
Allah raised up your position, O Leader of the Prophets.

يَا نَبِي سَلَام عَلَيْكَ   يَا رَسُول سَلَام عَلَيْكَ
يَا حَبِيب سَلَام عَلَيْكَ   صَلَوَاتُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْكَ

O Prophet, peace be upon you. O Messenger, peace be upon you.
O Beloved, peace be upon you. The prayers of Allah be upon you.

أَنْتَ فِي الْوُجْدَانِ حَيٌّ   أَنْتَ لِلْعَيْنَيْنِ ضَيٌّ
أَنْتَ عِنْدَ الْحَوْضِ رِيٌّ   أَنْتَ هَادٍ وَصَفِيٌّ

You are alive in sentiment. You are the light of eyes.
You are the irrigation at the Hawd (basin). You are the absolute pure guide.

يَا نَبِي سَلَام عَلَيْكَ   يَا رَسُول سَلَام عَلَيْكَ
يَا حَبِيب سَلَام عَلَيْكَ   صَلَوَاتُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْكَ

O Prophet, peace be upon you. O Messenger, peace be upon you.
O Beloved, peace be upon you. The prayers of Allah be upon you.

قَمَرٌ... قَمَرٌ... قَمَرٌ سِدْنَا النَّبِي قَمَرٌ
وَجَمِيل... وَجَمِيل... وَجَمِيل سِدْنَا النَّبِي وَجَمِيل

Moon…. The likeness of our Prophet is like the moon.
And beautiful… Our master is beautiful.

وَكَفُّ الْمُصْطَفى كَالْوَرْدِ نَادِي
وَعِطْرُهَ يَبْقَى اِذَا مَسَّتْ أَيَّادِي

And the palm of the Chosen One is like rose-petal, silken and dewy.
And its fragrant scent lingers upon the hands’ brushing touch.

وَعَمَّ نَوَالُهَا كُلَّ الْعِبَادِي
حَبِيبُ اللّٰهِ يَا خَيْرَ الْبَرَى

And its universal favours are for all of mankind.
Most Beloved of Allah, O the Best of creation.

قَمَرٌ... قَمَرٌ... قَمَرٌ سِدْنَا النَّبِي قَمَرٌ
وَجَمِيل... وَجَمِيل... وَجَمِيل سِدْنَا النَّبِي وَجَمِيل

Moon…. The likeness of our Prophet is like the moon.
And beautiful… Our master is beautiful.

وَلَا ظِلُّ لَّهُ بَلْ كَانَ نُورَا
تَنَالَ الشَّمْسَ مِنْهُ وَاْلبُدُورَ

And no taint of shadow because you are Light.
You are like the sun and the moon.

وَلَمْ يَكُنِ الْهُدَى لَوْلَا ظُهُورَه
وَكُلُّ الْكَوْنِ أَنَارُ بِنُورِ طَهَ

And there is no guidance without his presence.
And the whole universe is illuminated by the light of Taha.

قَمَرٌ... قَمَرٌ... قَمَرٌ سِدْنَا النَّبِي قَمَرٌ
وَجَمِيل... وَجَمِيل... وَجَمِيل سِدْنَا النَّبِي وَجَمِيل

السَّلَامُ علَيْكَ يَا، يَا رَسُولَ اللّٰه
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبِيبِي، يَا نَبِيَّ اللّٰه

يَا رَسُولَ اللّٰه

Salutations be upon you O Messenger of Allah.
Salutations be upon you my Beloved, O Prophet of Allah.
O Messenger of Allah.

رَقَّتْ عَيْنَايَ شَوْقًا، وَلِطَيْبَةَ ذَرَفَتْ عِشْقًا
فَأَتَيْتُ إِلَى حَبِيبِي، فَاهْدَأْ يَا قَلْبُ وَرِفْقًا
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد

My eyes are full of longing, and they’ve shed tears due to missing Taibah (Medina).
So I came to (visit) my Beloved. Calm down, my heart, and be gentle!
Send salutations upon Muhammad.

السَّلَامُ علَيْكَ يَا، يَا رَسُولَ اللّٰه
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبِيبِي، يَا نَبِيَّ اللّٰه

يَا رَسُولَ اللّٰه

Salutations be upon you O Messenger of Allah.
Salutations be upon you my Beloved, O Prophet of Allah.
O Messenger of Allah.

قَلْبٌ بِالْحَقِّ تَعَلَّقْ، وَبِغَارِ حِرَاءَ تَأَلَّقْ
يَبْكِي يَسْأَلُ خَالِقَهُ، فَأَتَاهُ الْوَحْيُ فَأَشْرَقْ
إِقْرَأْ إِقْرَءأَ يَا مُحَمَّد

A heart that is attached to the Absolute Truth (Allah), and that began to glow in the cave of Hira. Crying and asking His Creator, until revelation came to him and he began to shine. Read, O Muhammad, read!

السَّلَامُ علَيْكَ يَا، يَا رَسُولَ اللّٰه
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبِيبِي، يَا نَبِيَّ اللّٰه

يَا رَسُولَ اللّٰه

Salutations be upon you O Messenger of Allah.
Salutations be upon you my Beloved, O Prophet of Allah.
O Messenger of Allah.

يَا طَيْبَةُ جِئْتُكِ صَبَّا، لِرُسُولِ اللهِ مُحِبَّا
بِالرَّوْضَةِ سَكَنَتْ رُوحِي، وَجِوَارِ الْهَادِي مُحَمَّد

O Taibah (Medina) I came to you sick with longing, full of love for the Messenger of Allah.
My soul has settled in the Rawdha (Prophet’s grave), and resided beside our guide Muhammad.

السَّلَامُ علَيْكَ يَا، يَا رَسُولَ اللّٰه
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبِيبِي، يَا نَبِيَّ اللّٰه

Salutations be upon you O Messenger of Allah.
Salutations be upon you my Beloved, O Prophet of Allah.
O Messenger of Allah.
